Yarn Weight Conversions
We stock yarns from around the world, and they’re not all manufactured to the same standard weights.
The term ‘yarn weight’ refers to the thickness of the thread, not the weight of the ball or even of the thread itself. As different fibers have different densities, a yard of a fluffy aran wool may weigh less than a yard of 4ply cotton, even though the aran is the ‘heavier’ yarn.
